1960 Rambler DeLuxe Sedan in E. Austin

Written by Ken Altes

This was my find of the day, and it was a good day. Really wasn’t familiar with this model but it does look like the smaller Mercedes sedan of the day (I did own one of those). This same fellow has a mid 50s Mercury that I posted earlier. 1960-rambler-deluxe-sedan-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com 1960-rambler-deluxe-sedan-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-side-view 1960-rambler-deluxe-sedan-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-rear 1960-rambler-deluxe-sedan-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-front-detail

Andy’s Original 1966 Dodge Pickup in Allandale

Written by Ken Altes

Stumbled on this low mileage, original long wheelbase 1966 Dodge truck. Andy found it in Oklahoma and drove it home, said the trip was easy but loud. This survivor has the original straw headliner, has covered less than 60k miles. Powered by the famous Slant Six, a bulletproof motivator. Andy also has a 1972 Plymouth Scamp, and a 1966 Dodge Charger.1966-dodge-pickup-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-front 1966-dodge-pickup-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-rear 1966-dodge-pickup-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-interior1966-dodge-pickup-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-engine1966-dodge-pickup-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com

There are two mechanics’ garages on 183 near Duval Street that usually have at least one collector car getting repairs. This International pickup has the straight-sided “Bonus-Load” bed. This C Series ran from 1961 to 1968, adopting a new independent front torsion bar suspension and rode on a 119″ wheelbase.1961-international-c-100-truck-atxcarpics-com1961-international-c-100-truck-brochure1961-international-c-100-brochure 1961-international-c-100-truck-in-austin-tx 1961-international-c-100-truck-in-austin-tx-front
