Rare 1942 Chevrolet Used as Sign for Auto Parts Store on Far S. Congress Ave.

Written by Ken Altes

Only 258,795 Chevys were built in 1942 due to war mobilization.  Some were Blackout models without chrome or stainless steel trim.  Cannot tell if this trim is painted over, or is a Blackout type.  Cost $799 new.  Used a 216 cu.in. Stovebolt straight six OHV engine to produce 90 hp.  This basic engine powered Chevrolets from 1929 into the 1960s, or beyond.

1947 Hudson Pickup Custom at Zac Roberts’ Full Custom Fabrication

Written by Ken Altes

Early in the full custom project with an Oldsmobile 455 cu. in. V8 – happy to see engines other than Chevy small blocks as great as they are.  Zac can do it all, very well, and he’s a great guy.  See permanent link for Zac’s shop at right under ATX Motor Links.
