Purchase of the Isetta by BMW from its original Italian company and subsequent total re-engineering of chassis and addition of BMW motorcycle engine made this car the savior of the Bayerische Motoren Werken postwar. I owned a ’58 for a while and they are a blast to drive and handle amazingly well.
