Chuck lives in my neighborhood and I used to see this car on the road all the time. He shortened it in the 80s, adding a Buick V6, using it to tow his cars around.
This is Chuck’s Studebaker. He has several Studebakers, and occasionally one for sale.
This was manufactured with a Packard V8. Kind of an wild permutation on the brilliant but simple design.
This car has the fruits of the 1954 merger with Packard: a brawny 259 cu. in. Packard V8 and automatic.
This is one of several desirable versions of Raymond Loewy’s elegant original 1953 StudebakerĀ Starliner and Starlight design. Loewy also designed the Avanti in a couple of weeks.
