Svenska Aeroplan AB was started 1n 1937 to build fighter planes for the upcoming war. In 1945, they built their first car. The Saab 96 production ran from 1960 to 1980. Earlier ones had two-stroke three cylinder engines, but used a German Ford V4 after 1967.  Clever, sturdy cars that won rallies in early 60s.
