Tommy was moving from his burned RR apartment building when I spotted his car last week. His LeMans has a stock 250 cu. in. six (Chevrolet-built) making 145 hp, sucking hard through a one barrel carb. Tommy has owned it for about eight years and had to replace the engine at some point.
This was the last year for the Chieftain, featuring a 370 cu. in. V8 with 240 or 270 hp, and a three speed Super Hydra-Matic.
A gorgeous setting at the Long Center plaza overlooking Austin’s skyline, many exquisite collector cars were offered for sale. This event was created by the folks at Motoreum, Austin’s largest specialty car dealer on Hwy 620 (link at right). Here are a few, more to come:
