Mid 1970s Citroen SMs in front of a typical Mid-Century Modern home in Palm Springs, California, when I visited a few years ago.

I visited Berlin in May. The 3CV apparently was the more powerful version of the 2CV, built in Argentina in the 70s with the strapping 602 cc engine.

Caught this elegant French Citroen Traction Avant just outside the grounds of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy. Ever innovative Citroen gave the Traction Avant, made from 1934 to 1957, three engineering advancements new to mass production: front-wheel drive, unitary body without separate frame, and four-wheel independent suspension. The big trunk identifies this one as no older than 1952.

I found a bunch of Citroens in Amsterdam, this one the rustiest but most interesting. I believe the DSpecial is from about 1970. One of my favorite designs.
