Bob Nixon, that is, designed the AMC Gremlin by lopping off the rear of an existing model. Apparently a good, solid economy car with a large range of engines, from a two liter Audi four to a five liter V8. Approximately the same length as a VW Beetle, road tests of the time said it handled well and was quick. Still, not a good decade for Nixons.
Road tests say it was a good car, a shortened Hornet, and much better than its competition, such as the VW Beetle. You could buy it with a range of engines, from an Audi four of 199 cu. in., three straight sixes, to two V8s up to 401 cu. in. Made from 1970 through 1978. Asking $1650. AMC Javelins were pretty good cars, a bit lighter than the other pony cars of the time, and could be had with big V8s. Successfully raced, too. This looks like a base version.
