Wiki says this 401 engine was rare but most powerful, and available 1974-79. I had a 1966 Wagoneer 4WD that was fun and strong, but had a small straight six.
These were strong diesel engines. I had a 1968 200D that seemed like it would go on forever. A favorite car.
Could have had, I think, a 383 or 440 Wedge V8. Not sure if the 426 Hemi was still available. This garage often has interesting cars in its parking lot.
These are pretty fun cars with SOHC straight sixes.
