1966 Chevy II Nova Super Sport Coupe at Dave’s Performance Auto

Written by Ken Altes

Sold last year at Austin’s Mecum auction for $32,000, it’s had a rotisserie restoration with a small block crate engine, auto transmission and custom Foose wheels.  Dave’s Perfection Automotive is a venerable classic and custom car garage on S. 1st St., now owned by Steve Wertheimer, owner of the Continental Club on S. Congress Ave, and co-instigator of the annual custom car show, the Lonestar Round Up, the highlight of my car year. 1962 Rambler Classic Two Door Sedan in SW Austin

Blame Mitt’s dad, George Romney, who ran American Motors and later became governor of Michigan, for this car.  This Rambler Classic has been modified to some extent: see the hood scoop.  1962 was the only year for this two door model.
