This has a flathead (sidevalve) Green Diamond 233 cu. in. six cylinder engine.  And 4 speed “crash” (non-synchromesh) transmission. Reputation as reliable, low-cost workhorses.

Early 40s Chevrolet Custom Pickup with 505 HP at Lonestar Round Up

This recent Corvette small block LS7 engine has 427 cu. in. and is hand-built by the General Motors Performance Build Center.  This car was driven to the show from New Orleans.

The Ugliest Car at Lonestar Round Up: Desoto Custom

Overheard the owner saying that he was asked why he built such an ugly car.  He answered that his intent was to build a car and it turned out ugly.
