Larry Smith has a lot of cars, and he is selling a bunch of them. He is in Liberty Hill (a few miles beyond Leander) with his 60 or so collector cars. Here is a partial list of his cars for sale. I really like this car. Here are more details on it priced at $28,500. This lovely Chevy is powered by a 350 hp small block V8 and a three speed auto.
This is the last year of this GMC/Chevrolet Carryall Suburban style, running from 1941 to 1946, mostly used for war transport. The Chevrolet Suburban had a 216-cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine while the GMC version a 228-cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine. I don’t think the original engine survived in this example: there is an exhaust pipe in front of the rear wheel. (But, notice that the sales brochure has artfully chopped the roof — which one is the custom?)
Spotted moving rapidly on S. Congress Ave. Aren’t you feeling well? What was that noise…?
