Cameos (and Carriers for GMC) were styling exercises by GM running from 1955 through 1958, made in small numbers and were roughly 30% more expensive new than their base counterparts. Now, very collectable and valuable. This one has modified engine.  See link for Davis Rod & Cycle at right.
