Malta is a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, at the crossroads of history and war. It was the most bombed target in WWII, saved by a heroic convoy led by a crippled SS Ohio on August 15, 1942, tipping the war against the Axis powers. Malta was a British possession until the 60s — the most dangerous thing I saw was this handsome British Bedford truck driving on the wrong side of the road.
