Historic Austin: 1931 Rolls Royce Owned by Roy Butler and Floyd L. Raymond

Below this picture on a facebook page, the dialogue below is pretty intriguing. Mention of a Nash dealership, Butler Chevrolet, a Pontiac dealership, Roy Butler Lincoln Mercury, and, most tantalizingly one from Whit Adams: “I’m guessing  that it is not the one Roy stashed next to the pool at the Four Seasons as a gift for his wife!”  Love to hear more about old Austin car dealerships and, especially, this Rolls, and the one “Roy” stashed for his wife. Also, who’s Floyd Raymond?1931 Rolls Royce in Austin TX, Lamar Motors, Roy Butler and Floyd L. Raymondfacebook 1931 Rolls Royce in Austin TX, Lamar Motors, Roy Butler and Floyd L. Raymond

  1. Driving by the Butler house at 1 Niles Road on Friday, I noticed a Cadillac had replaced the tan or brown Rolls I’d seen for decades in the driveway. I would’ve expected a Lincoln.
