I love the 1965 Buick Riviera.  It’s one of GM’s best designs and looks great today. Sturdy cars with reliable 425 cu. in. Buick “nailhead” V8s with excellent three speed GM Turbo Hydra-Matic, called the Super Tubine 400 – Car and Driver called it the best auto in the world.  Envisioned as a T-bird fighter, GM’s head of design, Bill Mitchell, championed this design, the XP-715, to compete with Thunderbirds but had trouble finding a home inside GM for it. After first pitching it to Cadillac as a reborn La Salle, then to Chevrolet, and then all the divisions, but it finally became a Buick.1965 Buick Riviera in Austin TX front quarter view1965 Buick Riviera in Austin TX interior dash1965 Buick Riviera in Austin TX interior1965 Buick Riviera in Austin TX side view1965 Buick Riviera in Ausitn TX front on hwy 290 posted1965 Buick Riviera in Austin TX rear1965 Buick Riviera
