Down the street from my house, kind of dowdy, but a technically innovative car. Check out the impressive Chevrolet promo film.

  1. Rear mounted engine? That’s kinda unusual, not? At least for American cars?

  2. Yes, but this was the beginning of perhaps GM’s most innovative decade in American post war auto history. Fuel injection, turbo chargers, independent rear suspensions, air-cooled boxer sixes, a small aluminum V8, an OHC straight six for Tempest in 1966, then the really huge achievement of the large and powerful front wheel drive Toronados and Eldorados in 1966. And, the cars were good, including the Cadillac that was the best luxury car in the world. Then, the 70s was the worst decade ever.
