John Lennon’s first car was a 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 and was the same color as this one. He must have enjoyed it because he drove it a lot — covering about 20k miles before selling it after two years.
I’ve had two similar 60s Mercedes and have a very soft spot for these. This 220S is in spectacular condition, not surprising since I have had major body work done here, at Don’s Twomey Auto Works.
Could be powered by the last of the 409 cu. in. V8s, or the new 396 cu. in. “rat motor”.
This is basically the first Mustang under the body.
