Two sparkling Studebakers at the Long Center at Lady Bird Lake, a 1952 Studebaker Commander Coupe and a 1951 Studebaker Business Coupe. This dazzling Motostalgia auction was presented by Motoreum, linked at right.
Designed by Ghia’s Tom Tjaarda, the 2300S Coupé is powered by a twin carb 2.3-litre straight six making 136 hp, and 145lb/ft, pushing it to 0-60 in 11.6 seconds. Weighs about 2800 lb, with four wheel disc brakes. Classy
AMC Javelins were pretty good cars, a bit lighter than the other pony cars of the time, and could be had with big V8s. Successfully raced, too. This looks like a base version.
