Koop’s Awesome, Menacing Mercury Custom Near S. Lamar

Written by Ken Altes

This is just about my favorite car in Austin.  Named “Morticia” I think, has ’52 DeSoto grill, 1955 Packard rear fenders, 1957(?) Chevy front wheel fender cut-outs, and a c. 1962 Caddy 390 cu. in. engine.   Koop recently moved to Austin from Wisconsin, and has a few more cars he has yet to bring here.  He is currently working at the International House of Hot Rods (see link at right side of blog under ATX Resources).  Brilliant design.
