1960 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan

Written by Ken Altes

I learned to drive in Pittsburg, Texas, on a 1946 Ford flatbed truck and a 1960 Ford sedan.  I photographed this one in central East Austin, Texas.  Note the Half Moon headlight chrome covers, first used during WWII to hinder detection by aerial reconnaissance and bombers. Also, they were used to protect headlamps from damage in combat environments, and to protect the headlights for race cars.  To me, they are just cool.1960-ford-two-door-custom-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com1960-ford-two-door-custom-in-austin-tx-atxcarpics-com-front
