1974 Laverda 750SF at Handbuilt Motorcycle Show

Written by Ken Altes

This expensive, long legged late 1960s Italian design, badged American Eagle for US, was favored by Evel Knievel for his tricks until he got a new sponsor, Harley Davidson. He set a record jumping 17 cars at Ascot in his American Eagle. Very handsome bike, it was engineered by Massimo Laverda by reverse engineering a Honda 305cc CB77, a Norton 650SS and a BMW 69S. It made 60 hp stock but this bike is a mild custom by Moto Borgotaro in Brooklyn, where you can see much better pics of this bike.
