1969 Cadillac Sedan deVille on S. Lamar Blvd.
Dad had one of these in the day. I drove it a lot, and it was a very nimble 5200 lb car, turning on a 129.5 inch wheelbase. Mom had a small Mercedes that I talked her into buying, but when both cars were available, I chose the Caddy. These were really good cars with creamy torque and 375 hp from a 472 cu. in. V8. Great steering, engine, transmission, interiors, climate control, reliable and smooooth. With my sister and Mom, we drove our car almost non-stop to New York, taking turns sleeping on the wide rear seat. By far, my easiest road trip ever. I never had the same feeling of trusting a car to carry through regardless of road condition or circumstance as this one.
