One of many variations on one of the sweetest body designs ever, the 1953 Starliner/Starlight designed by Robert E. Bourke at the Raymond Loewy studios, nicknamed the Loewy coupes. For the Hawk series, 1956 to 1964, Studebaker added fins, Mercedes-type grills and various engines, from a flathead six to several V8s, including one from Packard, and even supercharged engines. The Silver Hawks like this one would have had either a 185 cu. in., six-cylinder 101 H.P, or a 289 cu. in. V8 engine with up to 225 H.P.
