1954 Spartan Imperial Mansion Trailer in Hutto, TX

Written by Ken Altes

Long story short:  Spartan Aircraft Company of Tulsa, OK, founded by an oil baron in 1928,  was sold a decade later to an even richer oil tycoon, J. Paul Getty (richest man in the world, “The meek shall inherit the earth, but not its mineral rights.”).  Spartan made really good planes including the oil magnate luxury special Spartan Executive that cruised at 200+ mph with 1000 mi. range.  At the end of the war, the company pivoted to expensive airplane-inspired aluminum monocoque mobile homes.  Spartan folded in 1962.

  9. I simply wanted to thank you very much yet again. I’m not certain the things I would have done without the tips shown by you directly on that field. Entirely was a horrifying situation in my view, but viewing the well-written strategy you treated that made me to cry over joy. I am just happier for this information and as well , hope that you realize what an amazing job you are always providing training many others by way of your blog. I am certain you’ve never got to know any of us.
