Last Friday, I had a few extra minutes before a meeting, so I meandered through back streets and came up with a handful of interesting cars. First year of the 239 cubic inch OHV Y-block making 130 hp, replacing the venerable flathead V8, also at 239 cu. in., used since 1932. This car was also available with a OHV straight six of 223 cu. in. making 115 hp. This car has the Borg Warner designed Fordomatic three speed auto transmission, variants also used in Jaguars, International Harvesters, AMC, Studebaker and Volvo. Probably the Mainline model.
