1952 Allard K2 Factory Special Roadster at Historic Races with 600 HP

(bored 392 cu. in.) 1957 Chrysler “Hemi” V-8 engine, dual Holley 750 cfm four-barrel carburetors, manual gearbox, split-axle front suspension, de Dion rear suspension with coil springs and Halibrand “Quick-Change” center section, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 106″.  Allard’s 1952 New York Automobile Show display car.”

Sold at auction in 2012 for $119k. Originally built with a Cadillac engine.  More about Allard cars here.

The split front axle (swing axles) were tricky. I asked the owner about its handling and he allowed it could be terrifying.  Very impressive car.
