On My Travels: Unidentified Mille Miglia Sports Car in Palermo, Italy

Written by Ken Altes

I started my adventures in Rome and worked towards the south and was disappointed to find so few collector, or at least interesting, cars, but hit the jackpot at a dockside specialty shop in Palermo in Sicily. When I told the garage owner that I was from Texas, he gruffly turned away in apparent disgust. I stood at the entrance a few moments, looking at all the cars inside just out of my reach, but finally asked another mechanic if I could take a few pictures. Shockingly, I was given full access. Here is one of seven cars I photographed there, this one the most intriguing since I cannot identify it. The biggest hint, I suppose is the (fuzzy) Mille Miglia decal (the 2016 running is currently underway). Any ideas?
